One For All
Sometimes referred to as the Jazz Messengers of today, the jazz group One For All was formed in 1997, for appearances at the venerable jazz club "Smalls" in New York. The three-horn front section of Eric Alexander (tenor sax), Jim Rotondi (trumpet) and Steve Davis (trombone) was originally conplemented by the rhythm section of David Hazeltine (piano), Joe Farnsworth (drums) and Peter Washington (bass). Over the years they have seen several changes in the bassist but otherwise this "super group" has remained intact.

Direct descendents of hard-bop combos of the 1950s and 1960s such as Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and Horace Silver Quintet, their music is straight-ahead and right down the middle, filled with clear musical concepts, tight ensemble playing and rousing solos.

Despite their busy schedules, members of One For All have managed to perform and record regularly. Since its debut album Too Soon To Tell in 1997, the group has issued eight highly acclaimed CDs from Sharp Nine Records and two from the Japanese independent label Venus Records.
