| | Release Date: | | 12/09/2009 | | Description: | | Karin Hammer is undoubtedly one of the top jazz trombone players in Sweden, and with this album, she demonstrates she is becoming one of the best in the world. One half of the two trombone duo group Sliding Hammers she co-leads with her sister Mimmi, Karin Hammer studied with Nils Lundgren and has performed with Kenny Werner, Steve Swallow, Gary Burton and Maria Schneider.
Her first solo album in five years, Everyday Magic not only showcases Hammer's beautiful tone, amazing technique and the assured ability to swing, but also her compositional skills: All of the ten tunes were written by her. The piano trio led by Jonas Östholm supports her impeccably and provides a solid foundation for the soloist. Recommended for fans of jazz trombone!
