Description:"I ... was knocked out by his combination of advanced creativity and impulsive fearlessness... Tomorrow Never Knows is a stunning start." - Thomas Conrad, JazzTimes

Italy is a very exciting place for jazz fans right now. The country has produced many excellent pianists such as Enrico Pieranunzi and Stefano Bollani. Now we have another young pianist who belongs to the new generation: Giovanni Guidi

Born in 1985, Guidi was only 21 years old when this debut album was released from Venus Records. The modern sensibility and eclectism of Guidi and his equally young bandmates are obvious from their song selections: In addition to three originals by Guidi, they picked compositions by Krzysztof Komeda (legendary Polish pianist/composer), Ornette Coleman, Bjork, Brian Eno, Lennon & McCartney (3 songs), Enrico Rava (Italian trumpet player and the trio's employer), Radiohead and Hampton Hawes. This is definitely one of the most eclectic and exciting song lists I've ever seen!

Their modern and European sensibilities are naturally different from many of their American counterparts, but they are refreshing, exciting and attractive. On "Turnaround" and "Duff," they also demonstrate their appreciation of the history and tradition of jazz, and that they can swing as well as anyone else. This is an impressive debut album by a promising, talented artist.

Recorded at The House Recording Studio in Rome in January 2006 by Emanuele Bossi. Mixed and mastered by 24-bit Venus Hyper Magnum Sound.
