Artist/Band:Dan Nimmer Trio
Name:Tea for Two
Cat No.:TKCV-35215
Performed by:Dan Nimmer (piano)
David Wong (bass)
Pete Van Nostrand (drums)
Release Date:06/20/2007
Description:Dan Nimmer is a brilliant young pianist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who is currently a member of Wynton Marsalis' Lincoln Jazz Orchestra as well as his small combo.

Tea for Two is an auspicious debut CD he recorded for the Japanese Venus Records in 2005. Mr. Hara, owner and producer of Venus, has a knack of finding young talent and giving them opportunities to record. The list includes Stefano Bollani, Francesco Cafiso, John Guidi, and now, Dan Nimmer. He has already released a second CD from Venus, and the wonderful Kelly Blue (TKCV-35204) is also available here at Eastwind Import.

Nimmer shows youthful enthusiasm, beautiful touch, impeccable technique and an uncanny sense of swing. Strong influences by Wynton Kelly, Red Garland, Erroll Garner and Ahmad Jamal can be detected throughout the program, but they are organically integrated and developed in the hands of this young gentleman. This is a swinging, fun, and exciting debut album by a promising pianist.

Recorded in August 2005 at "The Studio" in New York by Katherine Miller. Mixed and mastered by Venus 24-bit Hyper Magnum Sound. Limited paper sleeve edition.
